At the conference, we will be welcoming keynote speaker, Roger Smith, MD. Dr. Smith is Assistant Dean for Graduate Medical Education and Professor of Clinical Biological Sciences at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. He will be addressing the physical and mental collapse caused by overwork or stress that we are ALL at risk of suffering. He will also include discussion on fatigue, how to recognize and develop a strategy for dealing with it. CME credits are also available for Dr. Smith’s presentation.
After our keynote speaker, we will have a panel of experts including psychiatrist, Robert Piccinini, DO, dFACN, psychologist, Jodie Eckleberry-Hunt, PhD, and counselor Drew Shrimplin discuss avenues to treatment of physician burnout.
At the end of the afternoon, we will offer three breakout sessions to our conference attendees. Stacy Bishop, owner of Hōme Life Center in Farmington, will be leading a group through meditation and yoga, Dr. Piccinini from our panel will show attendees ways to “Relieve Stress in the Work Environment” and representatives from The Doctors Company will be presenting “Enriching the Clinician Experience: Actions for Satisfaction.”
